Here I sit, near 4 a.m. and I've had NO sleep!
Had an interesting few days...
Sunday we went out to see my sister, but she wasn't home...
I later learned she was at my neice's house for my nephew's
birthday! We were planning on trying to see my sis and her
husband, my neice and her husband and my nephew and his wife.
We were driving the backroads....kinda got lost!
We found highway J! We were on the 'backside' of it, however!
Before we found my nephew's house, our daughter got a severe
migraine. It was so severe, that, well, she, how can I say
this nicely? She lost her dinner all over her clothes!
THEN her car, which we were using, started making a terrible
noise and pulled to the side! We went home and our daughter
got cleaned up and went to bed...and had that migraine until
the next day. ~sigh~
Gary took her car to the shop. I 'think' it was bad bearings?
The mechanic said that it's the grace of God that we weren't
killed! The inside of the tire was SHREDDED!
It will set us back about $400.00 now!
AND....now the new tire that they put on? It has a leak!
Gary has to take it back to the garage today!
Monday was just kinda slow.
Tuesday we were surprised when our youngest son brought
his family up! It was their oldest daughter's third
birthday! They left the kiddos with us and went to the local
Wal*Mart and bought her a cake and some gifts.
That was a nice surprise!
Their car had been 'down' for some time, and was just fixed
that day! They only had a truck to get around in before,
and with a family of 5....they weren't going anywhere together!
Gary is sick with a cold. Mary is getting a scratchy throat.
I...well, with Multiple Sclerosis and being so overweight....
you can imagine how I am.
I thank God for the 'better' days.
I miss my boys and their families.
I miss my sister and her family.
I'm working hard to lose weight, as I'm the biggest I've ever been.
SAD. It's not easy. I was raised by one of the absolute most
beautiful, wonderful Christian ladies on God's green earth!
My mother was taught by her mother how to cook.
Let's just say I'm in LOVE with Southern cooking (cuisine!).
Homemade chicken and dumplings.
Homemade dressing. (Midwesterners/Northerners call it stuffing!) lol
Homemade buttermilk biscuits dripping with butter.
Fried chicken smothered in gravy.
I think you can see why I am obese!
It sure is good...but not worth the end results!
I need to learn balance.
Control.
Self control!
I try.
I fail.
This time, I will succeed, by the grace of God!
If I don't, I will pick myself up, dust myself off, and
continue trying until I die.
I have to.

Sorry that we missed you!!! But I am glad to hear that you were feeling better and up to a Sunday drive. I hope Mary is feeling better. Keep on keeping on----you will succeed. (But Grandma was a great cook, wasn't she)
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard anything from you in a while and just checking to make sure you are okay.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kim
I sure hope you have good days along the way. I know how hard MS can be. My Dad suffered with MS for many years and it's not easy to keep a good frame of mind. Take care and God bless you!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent visit and sweet comments. It is so good to hear from you. I am sorry to hear that you have been having problems with your MS and I will be keeping you in my prayers. I am glad to hear that you had a nice Easter. If you feel up to doing a post I'd love to hear about it.
Take care.
Hugs,
Kim
