Mothers' Day

My Mom and Dad:
I had the great honor of having one of the most wonderful Christian Mothers. She was beautiful, inside and out! She taught us kids the Way to go. She not only led by her teaching, but by honorable example. She was a wonderful lady who came from Earle Arkansas. She too, had wonderful parents. My Momma's name was Chloie. She was born in 1918 and was promoted to Glory on October 3rd, 1998. I just cannot say enough good about my Mom. She had a magnetic personality, and everyone was drawn to her. In the 1970's, in our Church, the pastor didn't call on women to pray aloud. It just didn't happen! Imagine the surprise when our pastor called on my Mom to pray aloud! People were shocked! AND my Momma could pray! She could stir your soul with her prayers! Momma could cook like nobody else! Near everything was made from scratch, and quite mouth watering! Nobody but nobody could beat her chicken and dumplings! She'd been cooking since she was about nine years old! She made a Walnut Wonder Cake that was just Heavenly! Everyone wanted her apple pie recipe. My Momma was a prayer warrior! If you had a problem, it became HER problem! She dearly loved her family. She liked to tell about something her father said once. He was visiting her in MO from Arkansas, and was standing in their living room, talking to all those there. He said "If any of you miss Heaven, then you will HAVE to go around a mountain of prayers that me and Momma have prayed for you!" Momma had alot of trials in her lifetime, but she handled them with prayer and grace. I was 20 days shy of being 40 years old when I lost my Mom. Twenty seven days after losing her, I developed what was later diagnosed as Optic Neuritis, a symptom of M.S. I "SO" needed my Momma with me then! I find throughout my life, I need her. The older I get, the more I need her! I draw on her strength, her prayers. I honest to the Good Lord wouldn't take a million dollars for ONE memory of her! So, HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY, MOM! I love you bigger than the sky!

  2. Hi Bonnie,
What is a beautiful tribute to your Mom. I'm sure she is smiling down from heaven and very proud of you. She sounds like a wonderful lady. I was getting hungry just reading about her cooking. I love chicken n dumplings. I can only imagine how hard it is for you to be faced with your illness and not have her to be there for comfort.
